GSAS Video Presentations

Here is an index of all known recorded meeting presentations available to our members. They are available in two formats, DVDs and downloadable .mp4 files.

DVDs can be checked out from our library at most monthly meetings, and should be playable on most computers or modern DVD players. For ease of location, we've included the DVD Volume number with each talk here.

MP4 files are playable on most computers and many media players such as iPhones. They are available for copy at most meetings, and are also downloadable here via the BitTorrent protocol. The BitTorrent links are provided for paid-up members only, except as noted. The password to access them is sent out with your monthly newsletter.

Some speakers have explicitly requested that their talks only be available on the DVD in the club library. Please respect their requests so that we can continue to make the material available.

Presentations prior to 2000 are generally of terrible quality. Presentations from 2008 to present are in widescreen and also available in the library on high-def Blu-Ray.

Oct 1998 n/a Vol 2 Karen Randall: Aquatic Plants
Jun 1998 n/a Vol 2 Lee Finley: Corydorus and Loricarid Catfish. We were so impressed with Lee at the Portland Club, we flew him out from Rhode Island the following year. May 1996 n/a Vol 1 Kurt Zadnik: Dwarf Cichlids. Kurt's talk is what got us (Erik and Kathy) really into the dwarf cichlids. It's also the only presentation we've ever seen that uses two projectors side-by-side to show the male and female of each species. Unfortunately, between the early miking, analog video camera, the quality is not so good.
